Billboard mainstay, SB19, is ready to welcome a new era with a blazing fire after winning three titles, including two of the major awards, in the recently-concluded Myx Awards 2020. The group also made history as the first artists to snatch both New Artist and Artist of the Year awards, and even bagged the most number of awards this year.

SB19 transcended prominent artists IV of Spades, Ben&Ben, Inigo Pascual, and Moira Dela Torre for the Artist of the Year award and beat Gibbs, Kakie, Syd Hartha, and Zephanie for the New Artist of the Year title.

“Go Up”, which was almost the group’s last spark, outshone its contenders from big OPM artists to claim the Song of the Year title, including “Mabagal” by Moira Dela Torre and Daniel Padilla, “Imposible” by KZ Tandingan and Shanti Dope, “Pagtingin” by Ben&Ben, and “Come Inside of My Heart” by IV of Spades.

In their second album teaser for their “Get in the Zone” album, Josh expressed that the main purpose of the song, “Go Up” was to share their journey, “... we poured everything in this song while making it. I even cried the first time we recorded it. It felt like everything (memories) came back. The main purpose of this song is to share our journey and to inspire people, to give them strength, and I think we succeeded 'coz.. I think it's one of the reasons why we are here right now.”

Other than receiving these awards, SB19 also set the virtual Myx stage on fire as they opened the ceremony with their breakthrough single “Go Up”, showcasing their unwilted vocals and moves. The group is included in the line up of big hitmakers in both the local and international music scene. Other Filipino artists who performed include Ben&Ben, Chito Miranda, Darren Espanto, Inigo Pascual, KZ Tandingan, Shanti Dope, and MYX Magna 2008 honoree Gary Valenciano, among others. Meanwhile, international artists Anne-Marie and Honne, Maximillian, and Valentina Ploy also graced the virtual celebration.

The criteria to determine the winner for each category were as follows: 50% online votes on Myx website, 10% Twitter votes, and 40% artist poll. A’TIN secured SB19’s lead on Twitter votes as the group’s artcards emerged with the most retweets and/or likes across all their nominations. Although the tally for the online voting on Myx website was not made available to the public, the Voting Team led A’TIN in trying to calculate the total online votes.
